The Document Checklist You Need To Have While Moving
For most people who are relocating, the most tiresome part is the documentation. Missing one small document can turn everything upside down. This is why you can choose to hire professional relocation experts like 21st Century Relocations. We offer door-to-door, customized, and timely relocations services with a 24×7 support team.
Here is the document checklist that will come handy when you are planning to relocate.
What You Need:
- School records
- Pet & family health and dental records
- Passport
- Visa
- Birth certificate
- Marriage certificate
- Passport size photographs of you and your family
- Driver’s license
- Car title deed
- Chequebook
- Car, home or lease owners insurance policy
- Loan documents
- Credit card statements for the last three months
- Receipts that are less than three months old
- Utility bills that are less than a year old
- Appointment letter (if applicable)
- Experience letter (if applicable)
- Wills (if applicable)
- Lease or sale agreement of the new home
- Tax receipts
- Permits
- Travel tickets
- A paper with emergency contact details
- Adoption papers (if applicable)
- Divorce papers (if applicable)
- Child custody papers (if applicable)
- The moving company’s estimate, bill of lading, inventory form, and contract
Once you have it all in place, organize it so it is easy for you to produce them when needed. Keep copies. If you have all as hard copies, labelling with stick-ons is also a good idea to find them easily when you need them. If some of them are soft copies, you can e-mail them all to yourself and star it, or save them in a dedicated folder on the cloud. When you are labelling or naming the documents, don’t forget to mention the year.
